Autoglaze Boost Green Credentials With Environmentally Friendly Windscreen Repair

With the average Briton creating more than half a tonne of waste each year, Autoglaze the experts in windscreen repairs, are boosting their green credentials with a series of environmentally friendly initiatives in house.

With Only 27 per-cent of the waste we create in the UK being recycled, this is creating implications not only for the environment but for future generations left to pick up the pieces of our laziness.

Gareth Kilburn, Director at Autoglaze, the national firm who specialise in chipped windscreens and auto glass, said, “The UK is still playing catch up with many of the other European countries, in terms of recycling and much more should be done do combat this. Here at Autoglaze we are constantly working to reduce our impact on the environment, and this means that we take steps to recycle all of our glass and paper.”

Aluminium used in the glass repair process, is an all too common practice with some repair firms, resulting in waste being taken unnecessarily to landfill sites. Experts have recently noted that the amount of copper, gold and aluminium found in landfill sites has significantly increased and that more should be done to reduce this.

Autoglaze, the environmentally friendly windscreen repair firm, have now considered these warnings and adopted a new strategy that involves using polyeurethane foil glue packets each time they repair a cracked windscreen.

Mr Kilburn added, “Recycling is everyone’s responsibility, and this should not be something which is industry specific. There are things that we can all do to reduce the impact we have on the planet and more windscreen repair firms should follow our lead. Even if they just recycle their containers after use, as we do here at Autoglaze, our outlook would look much brighter.”
